16-18 June 2026

Days following the New Moon in Gemini

16-18 June 2026

The Moon makes its pass through Cancer having just entered its New Moon phase which is about the dark night, but also the emergence from that into a new dream, a new exploration, a new hope. The Moon leaves the Sun (its New Moon aspect) and applies to Mercury, then Jupiter, then Venus. This is super important, so lets unpack it piece by piece.

The Moon is how we heal. It is the part of ourselves that knows how to nourish and allow for recovery. It is the nonlinear, matriarchal, yin energy of creation and birth. The Moon is cyclical, rhythmic and reflective. The Moon is magic. So when it "applies" to another planet it is giving its strength and its focus to that energy and says "i see you and i am coming with my moist and juicy healing love to soften and heal with you".

Mercury is the messenger god for whom no way is barred. Mercury travels not only to the over world, but to the underworld - the only god clever and sneaky and wise enough to manage that. Mercury is fast and slippery and cannot be trapped. Mercury rules language and nerves and communication and listening and motion. How we think can be seen in how we move and how we move through the world and think our stories shapes our reality. Mercury is also correlated with Odin, the Norse god who hung on the World Tree and gave his eye for writing in the form of Runes, so Mercury is also the Oracle giver. If we cannot imagine it, if we cannot shape a story in our minds - it has a very difficult ...perhaps impossible time manifesting. Physics has proven what wise indigenous elders have always told us, what we dream and vision shapes the world. Grandmother Spider weaves as we dream. Remember that all energy has a high and low expression. Mercury is also the Trickster and are sleep walking he will lead you exactly where you are dreaming too. So, what are you dreaming for yourself? For the ones you love? For the ones you don't? Are you dreaming a better world or another zombie apocalypse whose story has been handed and hammered into your circuitry by folks with less moral imagination than you?

The Moon moves quickly like Mercury, so they embrace and link intention and then she grabs hold of Jupiter and the three of them swirl for a bit. Jupiter has as much mass ass all the planets in our solar system... so much so that it nearly became another Sun. There is a grandeur to Jupiter, an expansive, hope filled energy that reaches out into possibility and has faith that the universe will rise to meet him. He is Zeus, which i feel is unfortunate, because Zeus was an authoritarian dogmatic lecher - and Jupiter, if we want to make those kinds of choices, is very happy to oblige and will lead us right down that boring road too. Jupiter's high road? Faith, Wisdom... yes, capital F & W. Jupiter also rules social progress and far seeing vision. He bets the house and wins and on the rare occasion that he doesn't he laughs, buys drinks all around and chalks it up to experience and the opportunity to share.

These are all dancing together in Cancer... or probably just cuddling. Cancer energy knows how to take care of itself. It knows what it needs and is unapologetic about it. Like crabs their symbol, they can literally regrow their limbs and prefer to walk sideways rather than head on. When Cancer grabs hold of you, she will not let go. Cancer's low expression is whingy and needy, dependent and always leeching onto to people to either give their power away as a victim or to give their power away as a savior. Cancer when rooting in the garbage can is taking care of everyone else to avoid their own shadow work and responsibility to heal themselves. We all know where that lands and lets not waste these really magical days on same ole-same ole. Just these three coming together in Cancer just after the New Moon signals a time to plant seeds of healing. But the opportunities are not yet finished, for Venus has just ingressed into Leo and the Moon will leave Mercury and Jupiter in short order to glide against her as well. Venus is our ability to relate, not simply relationships with other people, and certainly not just love (she has a high and a low expression too). Venus rules aesthetics so she intrinsically knows how to build bridges between two seemingly separate things - be that color or shape, human or non-human. In Leo she is bold and daring. She throws her magnificent hair around and shines. Pop-astrology gives Leo energy a bad rap. It always talks about pride and boasting and show pony expressions that drive everyone crazy. Yes, this can be Leo, but like any showman, Leo energy knows how to read a room. It is actually incredibly sensitive and tuned into the vibe of others. What Leo is trying to do is find its rightful place - an audience who is able to appreciate and be fed off of who it is authentically. The drama queen is the garbage can. When Leo is in right relationship with its highest capacity it is regal, generous, unabashed and captivating. Like a queen or king, when Venus is in Leo, we feel inspired. We feel awe. We feel majesty. Bold audacity of spirit that comes straight from the heart - the organ that Leo rules. When Venus is in Leo, we need to give and receive applause where it is merited. And vulnerable authenticity is worthy of merit - especially these days. So give it... and if you are dancing your truest self and the crowd isn't going wild... don't pretzel yourself into what they want! The point is to go and find your rightful audience. The applause aren't the point. Naked authenticity is.

What is your vision for yourself and for the world? The one that goes deep down and leaves you feeling vulnerable and naked? The one that is true? Can you take a moment to plant a seed? Remember, these are not seeds you have to baby... you can plant them and leave them to it. That is Cancer energy at its best, does it's work in private. If you do a ritual with a friend or share your vision with someone great, that is one way of hooking into that Venus energy. But you can also really just bear honest witness to yourself and your own authentic desires and dreams. Can you be your own best audience? Can you give gratitude and acknowledgment for the honest and vulnerable truths you carry? To plant the seeds, it can be utterly symbolic, no frills necessary, just you and your intention.

So pause - another thing Cancer energy is good at - take a real and honest and daring feel into yourself...go deep and then allow the feelings and vision to rise within you without trying to shape it... just let it flow. Bear witness to your own raw longing. Now with your mind and with your heart, shape that longing into a seed and say an earnest prayer over it. Remember to give thanks. Remember to dedicate the merit of your intention as a gift to someplace or someone in need. Now blow that metaphysical seed into the wind and trust - HAVE FAITH that Spirit is alive and well and waiting to catch your dreams and weave a more wholesome future for all of us. If tears come, let them. They will water your intention. When you are finished press your hands or your feet into Mother Earth and thank her for witnessing. Give yourself a hug and thank your body and your selves for carrying you into this moment of now.

Recently i listened to a Prentiss Hemphill podcast episode on Becoming the People. The episode was called Holistic Prosperity with Aisha Nyandoro. Aisha had a really wise invitation at the end of the show that i would like to offer you as inspiration. The whole interview is great, but take a few minutes and listen to timestamp 43:11-45:55 (https://podcastaddict.com/becoming-the-people-podcast-with-prentis-hemphill/episode/222751723 via @PodcastAddict )
